Activia Yogurt

This is a perfect snack to have in between meals.  The Light brand is better than the regular and it tastes the same.  Plus, it's good to help regulate your digestive system if you need it.  Sometimes that's a problem when your pregnant.  It has been with some of my pregnancies.

There are a variety of flavors and some of the Nutrition Facts is a little bit different, but not enough to make a difference.  If you're not sure, just check the Nutrition Facts real quick before you buy it while you're at the grocery store.

I absolutely Love these!!

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This is a fast and easy Lunch or even a snack to throw together when you don't have much time to prepare something.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 slices of Multigrain bread, High in Fiber (1 slice of bread if it's for a snack)
  • Monterey Jack Cheese (Or cheese of your choice)
  • Tomatoes (Sometimes if I have them.  I'll cook them inside or put them on top after I've made the sandwich)
  • S/P (Sometimes)

You've got your Carbs and Fiber (Bread), and Protein (Cheese).  Yum!!

Almonds

These are found at Costco.  I Love them! And I don't like Almonds.  These converted me!  They are a Great snack to have on hand when you're out and about.  The nice thing about these is that they are filling as well.

Sorry the picture isn't the greatest.

These are a Good healthy snack and they have the Good fat.  The recommended dose is 1/4 cup a day, because these Will make you gain weight.  If your dietician is wanting you to gain weight for your pregnancy then this would be a perfect thing to eat.

Ice Cream!!!

So if anyone knows me and my family, we LOVE ice cream!!!!  With my 1st pregnancy I had No Sugar added Klondike Bars and those worked just fine, but with my 3rd pregnancy it made my Sugar levels go up.  Well, I found these Breyers Carb Smart Ice Cream Bars at the grocery store and was So excited to try them.  I had them as my snack right before bed and they made my numbers go up a little in the morning (my "fasting" numbers) so I can't have it then, BUT, I CAN have it as my snack in between meals and my numbers are just fine.  So, with that I am able to have my ice cream crave and still be on my healthy diet plan!!  Yay!!!  Plus, the Nutrition Facts are Awesome!!

Total Carbs: 9g, Dietary Fiber: 2g, and Protein: 3g

(Again, sorry the pictures aren't bigger, just click on it and it will enlarge the size for you to read the Nutrition Facts better.)

Enjoy your Ice cream!!  I know I will! <3

Mini Crunch

My mom found these at Costco!  My dad is diabetic and she thought of him when she saw these and now that I have Gestational Diabetes, I have 2 boxes in my home and will go back for more!  They are basically like a free snack!

Total Carbohydrates: 4g, Dietary Fiber: 2g, and Protein: 4g

Those are the main Nutrition facts you need to know, and they are Awesome!!!  I Love these!!  I hope you do too!!

Sorry, I keep taking pictures so you can read the Nutrition Facts, and this is the best I've got.  If you click on the pictures it should blow up for you to see it better!

Quesadilla

There are many different variations you can have with a quesadilla.  When I'm in a hurry and realize that I haven't eaten in awhile and I'm starving, I make it simple.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Reg size Flour Tortilla (Wheat is preferred, but I can't stand them, and my sugar levels are fine when I use a flour tortilla)
  • Shredded Monterey-Jack Cheese (Or cheese of your choice).  *I just eyeball the amount of cheese to put on, but I usually cover about 1/2 of my tortilla*

Put cheese in tortilla, fold in half and either put it in the microwave (which is what I do most of the time), or heat it on the stove in a pan.  Viola!  Easy and simple.  You have your Protein (cheese) and carbs (tortilla).  If you want to add ingredients make sure you're not putting in more carbs.  Try to add vegetables or the Good fats like Avocados, or even a little bit of chicken is always nice and good.
