My Story...

1ST PREGNANCY:
When I got pregnant with my first child I took the Glucose test and it came back positive.  I wrote about it on my Blog and this is the link to read about that:

2ND PREGNANCY:
When I was pregnant with my second baby, they tested me earlier in my pregnancy and it came back positive as well.  My numbers were just a little bit higher, but still in the range of being a Gestational Diabetic.  I actually ended up miscarrying that child early on in my pregnancy, so I don't have much to relate with that one.

3RD PREGNANCY:
With my 3rd pregnancy they tested me later in my pregnancy at about 28 weeks (the usual time to be tested).  I got my results in on Valentine's day and they were positive, once again!  I took a 2 hour Glucose test with that pregnancy, whereas before it was only an hour test.  So they took the normal Fasting number, then gave me the drink.  Then took my blood an hour after I drank the "lovely" drink, and then again an hour after that.
I asked my Dr. what my numbers were and he said they were actually pretty high: 179, 158 and 152.  Not sure what order those went in or how exactly that works... I just know that's pretty high;  But not as high as my first pregnancy when it was 202 after I took the hour Glucose test.
With this 3rd pregnancy my Sugar levels were a little higher with my Diet Plan (not my Glucose test) than with my 1st pregnancy, so I've had to be on a little bit of a stricter diet.  Every pregnancy is different.

I have a feeling I will be diabetic with all my pregnancies (maybe not, like I said above, every pregnancy is different, but so far my future doesn't look promising. Maybe I'll get lucky one of these times :0) ).

This website is not only for others out there like me, but also for myself.  I want to have reference to all my Gestational Diabetic information and Recipes and foods that have worked while I've been pregnant.  Hopefully, this will encourage not only myself to be better at eating right, but help you to be motivated and have easy and helpful information as well.

*Remember everybody's body reacts differently to different foods and ingredients.  Some of these recipes and tips may or may not work for you, but hopefully the information will. *
